Where did you grow up?
I am from Pinehurst, NC and I grew up there, but most of my family is from Long Island so I grew up going back and forth a lot and seeing family.
Where did you study?
I graduated from NYU Tisch. I studied dance and I also have a minor in Art and Public Policy.
Do you have any routines or something you do everyday?
The first thing I do when I wake up is I say things that I’m grateful for. It’s a very important step in my day.
What are you working on right now?
I’m working on multiple projects right now, one of them is a duet with my really good friend and we will be performing at Battery Park Dance Festival in August which I’m super excited for. And aside from that I’m also working at a non-profit organization called Dorill Initiative which is a non-profit organization founded by Tareake Dorill, who really thinks art is a jumping point for kids to get out of sticky situations or just in general for underrepresented communities. I’m working there teaching kids dance. I am also working at SoHo House which is more of a business/professional suite type of vibe so I’m excited to be working in that administrative role as well.
What motivates you right now?
Being out of school, it has been hard to find motivation. For me, my motivation has been the fact that I’ve been getting up every day, putting a foot forward towards what I want to do, which is dance. Also teaching children– my motivation is the kids.
Top 3 places to eat in NY?
Ummm, okay, that's a hard one!
- Sally’s in Brooklyn.
- Ruby’s, the B.L.A.T. hits
- China Dragon, go-to spot for Chinese food in Flatbush
How would you describe your style?
I would say my style is all over the place! I lean more towards comfort and what I feel comfortable in, which I feel like everyone does, but comfort to me could be a skin-tight dress or it could be sweatpants, a little tote bag and a shirt!
Any major plans for the next year?
The biggest plan I have currently is taking a trip to Turks and Caicos and actually getting time to relax.

What do you miss most about your childhood?
Woah…okay we can go there, we can! There are 3 things in particular that I miss from my childhood. Number one is that childhood wonder we had: the ignorance of being a child that is so nice and just moving through life, unaware of what life is. Second, my grandma. She was such a big, important person in my life and it was really hard when she passed away, I had to be 10 or 11 years old. That really affected me because my grandma was my best friend, someone I always felt comfortable with, and we talked every single day. Third would be my childhood dog, B.B. I miss her a lot.
Describe how dancing makes you feel using the fewest words possible.
At peace. It just feels…right.
